Helping you make informed decisions
AIG South Africa Limited offers Contaminated Products Insurance to provide final protection for recall costs, net loss in profits and rehabilitation costs following either accidental or malicious product tampering.
Food and drink products are susceptible to contamination, both accidental and by deliberate interference through malice for political or financial gain. Incidents such as the discovery of contaminated fish, liquor and fruit juice in South Africa are increasingly common and attract great media interest when they occur, which can have a disastrous impact on the public’s confidence in the affected product. Considerable costs can be incurred in both recalling and replacing the damaged product as well as in rebuilding public confidence.
